Effective ways to bond with your little one

01/7How to bond with your baby

We can all mutually agree to the fact that being new parents can get extremely overwhelming. From learning to hold the fragile little one, without being grappled with the fear of hurting the baby to understanding all the different cries, parenting is not a child’s play.

02/7The unbreakable bond

Did you know that when you are close to your little one, it can actually make him/her feel calm and secure? While the bond and connection between the baby and parents are established right from birth, there are still plenty of things you can do to build an unbreakable bond with your kiddo.

03/7Skin-to-skin contact

Hold the baby in your arms as much as possible and keep him/her near your chest. This skin-to-skin will also help in regulating your baby’s heartbeat and breathing. This human touch is not only beneficial for the newborn but can also help the parents calm down.

04/7More of rocking

Even if the baby has fallen asleep in your lap, don’t reach out for the bassinet yet. Savour the moment and rock the baby back and forth. Hum a little lullaby if you want to and truly enjoy the presence of your own little human in your arms.

05/7Talk to the baby

Early days of parenting can be really overwhelming. If you don’t have your partner around or feel incredibly isolated, we suggested talking to your baby. While the baby may not understand a whole lot of what you said, it would surely feel amazing to have a tiny best friend who does not give away your secrets.

06/7Decipher the crying

Since your baby cannot really communicate using words and sentences, it is important to pick on the cues and understand what the baby is saying by crying. Each cry means something entirely else, from being hungry to being cranky because of tiredness.

07/7Sing to the baby

For the baby, there is no sound more soothing than that of a mother. Break into lullabies or even your favourite Bollywood song, you never know when your kiddo starts bobbing along. Remember Emma's giggling in when Rachel sang Baby Got Back in FRIENDS? Yes, we are talking exactly about that.
